06 Feb Our new house
We moved house in January. Despite it only being two weeks ago I can’t believe how settled we already feel here. This is the sort of house we had always dreamed of but didn’t think it would ever become a reality. It is fine just as it is, we can live in it extremely comfortably and it has a wonderful homely feel to it (I think the previous owner can take the credit for that). It also has so much potential, the garden is a jungle waiting to be rediscovered, the house needs a bit of TLC, but we are so excited at the prospect!
Our daughter and dog have been sharing some quality nap times in the new house, one rather conventional settee snooze…
And a not so conventional kitchen floor kip (I think Guinness chose the location of this one!)
We love the house itself, it has given us so much more space than we had before, but I think it’s fair to say it was the garden that won us over. It is a childhood dream, it’s beyond what we could have ever imagined owning. It surrounds the house, full of trees (plenty to climb, definitely a tree house in the pipeline!) with a river on one side. This is part of it in the depths of winter, I think spring will be really exciting, there are daffodils and snow drops popping up everywhere.
I’m pretty excited about my new workroom. I have gone from a beautiful but small desk under the stairs to a fantastic room with a huge corner desk with windows. I sat in there today with the log burner lit just grinning to myself! It’ll take a while to get it looking just how I want it but it’s well on it’s way. It feels so wonderful to have all of my lovely artwork out, Facebook is a wonderful place to discover talent (Becci MaryAnne, Auntie Mim’s, Angela Smyth to name but a few).
I can’t wait to get stuck into orders again, get out into the garden with the children and start on some interior design. I have a feeling we’re going to be very happy here for a very long time.
